In 1971, Mary Lois Hudson Sweatt started offering dance training to students in a small church fellowship hall. Over the years those classes have grown and developed into the dance school we know and love.

 

Mary Lois School of Dance (MLSD) is here today because of the vision and dedication of our founder. Her fortitude and determined spirit are the driving force behind our time-honored traditions and core values.

 

The time has come for our MLSD family to honor her legacy, memorialize our past and look ahead to our future. We are proud of our remarkable history and will not let a pandemic stand in the way of an equally fantastic celebration of our golden anniversary.

 

During the 2021-2022 dance season, we will commemorate and celebrate 50 years of “Touching Lives Through Dance!”
